Blackeyed Susan's Sheep Dairy

Blackeyed Susan’s is a sheep dairy in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire that was started by Matt Gelbwaks and Julie Whitcomb, the husband and wife duo behind Julie’s Happy Hens. It all started when 6 sheep, all named Susan, arrived at their doorstep as part of a Craig’s List rescue rehoming. Through 8 generations (so far) of selective breeding, the flock has grown from the original 6 better than average ewes to 60 of the region’s best milkers!

On the farm, you never know which animal will pop up.

The farm is on the site of the old Trow Homestead, a farm from the early 1800s belonging to one of the founding families of the town of Mont Vernon. The Dairy and Creamery are in what used to be the old farm garage (which then became the turkey barn).
